Making Dutch Oven Apple Cobbler

This Dutch Oven apple cobbler recipe provides a delicious apple filling with a sweet crunchy topping. It can be cooked over a fire or in your kitchen with an iron or enameled Dutch Oven, or even in a large skillet. Serve it hot with ice cream for an unforgettable dessert!
This has been a favorite and a number of campouts and is easy to prepare when teaching kids how to use a dutch oven. In the attached photos, you will see I used a Dutch Oven liner, which isn’t necessary if you have a well-seasoned oven. Liners do work nicely, however, when you are having a cookout with friends and you want to socialize after dessert instead of cleaning out your Dutch Oven right away. Sometimes it’s OK to cheat just a little.
