This is number one on my list because it requires no fancy equipment, and it has no complicated recipes or cooking techniques.  After working all day, time in the evening is short and many of us don’t have hours to spend cooking.  But if you’re like me, you don’t want to sacrifice a good meal because you have limited time.  And takeout every night gets expensive.  This cast iron recipe book will help to inspire you with ideas for some great meals while teaching you the basics of using cast iron, which can be intimidating for some.

While this book is not exclusively for cast iron recipes, it answers an important question:  What is the difference between non-stick, cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel pans.  This book answers many other essential cooking questions that are useful for every home cook, including why does pasta always taste better at a restaurant, and when is it OK to cook with frozen vegetables?  And it includes many delicious recipes utilizing numerous ingredients and cooking techniques.  This book will likely teach you something!  And it wouldn’t be on my list without at least one good cast iron recipe:  “The Cast Iron Quesadilla That Will Change the Way You Quesadilla!”
