Hamburger on the grill

Shredded Cheese Burger Recipe with Zesty Sauce

Nothing beats summertime grilling when it comes to backyard cooking! And one of the most common foods for grilling is the good old-fashioned cheeseburger. Sounds good – but lets put a new spin on the term “cheeseburger” and how they are made.

First, we are skipping the part where you just toss a slice of cheese on the top of a grilled hamburger. For this recipe, the cheese goes into the meat before you make your patties. The next bog difference is that we are skipping past the normal condiments and making a zesty sauce with a few basic ingredients.

Time to get started!

Here’s an easy way to do a different version of a cheeseburger. The good news is that you can always top with additional cheese when the burgers are cooked!

Burger Tip: You can use any type of cheese that you want with this burger. I prefer something like or pepper Jack cheese or cheddar. However, I did an Italian inspired version with Italian seasonings and shredded Mozzarella cheese and the flavor was amazing, but the zesty ketchup was not a good match. So the next time I used a junked up marinara sauce with French bread as the bun!
